Manage domains

Check DNS verification, update sending settings and remove domains.

Keep your DNS records in place

Verification checks your current DNS records. Keep them published after setup, and recheck after making changes.

Open a domain

In your workspace, open Sending Domains. The list shows each domain's traffic type, status, DKIM and SPF checks, and sending pool. Click a domain name to open its details.

To add a new one, follow Add your sending domain.

Check verification status

The domain detail page shows its current verification result:

StatusWhat to do
PendingPublish the required DNS records, then verify the domain.
VerifyingWait for the DNS check to finish.
DNS verifiedBoth required records, DKIM and SPF, passed the check.
FailedReview the record results and correct the DNS configuration.
Setup neededRequired DNS values are unavailable. Contact support to complete setup.
PausedSending is paused. Review the configuration and contact support if you need help.

In DNS Records, check each record's Status and any instructions below it. DMARC is recommended; it is not required for the domain to show DNS verified.

Recheck DNS

  1. Open the domain's DNS Records tab.
  2. Make any needed changes at your DNS provider and save them.
  3. Click Recheck DNS if the domain is verified, Restart verification if the check failed, or Verify domain for a pending domain.
  4. Review the updated results and Last checked time.

DNS changes can take time to appear. If a previously verified record fails a new check, restore or correct it at your provider and check again.

Update sending settings

Open Configuration, change the settings you need, then click Save changes. Use Discard changes to cancel unsaved edits.

SettingOptions
Traffic typeTransactional, Marketing or Mixed, matching the email sent from this domain.
Sending poolShared, or an available dedicated pool in your workspace.

If you can't edit the settings, ask a workspace administrator to check your access. See Roles and permissions.

Remove a domain

  1. Open the domain's detail page.
  2. Click the trash icon (Delete domain).
  3. Confirm by clicking Delete domain.

Deletion cannot be undone, and you will no longer be able to send from that domain through SendMero.

Best practices
  • Update apps that use a domain before deleting it.
  • Keep records required by other email providers when changing DNS.
  • Review your sending domain's verification after moving DNS to a new provider.
